God of War Nintendo Switch – will Ragnarok ever come to Nintendo’s console? In short, unlikely

God of War Ragnarok is here and is currently being enjoyed by PlayStation owners around the world.

Sadly for those who own one of the other consoles, Ragnarok is not on them, and doesn’t look like it will be any time soon.

For those on PC, there may be a flicker of hope, as the previous 2018 game did arrive on the platform some five years later – along with improved visuals and performance.

God of War Ragnarok on Nintendo Switch?

This is a long shot, and we can safely say at the time of writing it is extremely unlikely that God of War Ragnarok will arrive on Nintendo Switch.

Not only is God of War a Sony IP, of which they will rightly be very protective of, but graphically the game pushes the current gen console, the PS5, to new heights.

Despite the Switch’s ability to run games such as the Witcher 3, God of War Ragnarok represents a huge step up visually, and is likely out of reach for Nintendo’s hardware. The good news is that Ragnarok does run very well on the base PS4 console – and we have highlighted some deals below.

This is the perfect way to experience the game if you are yet to upgrade to PS5 – with some console deals coming in for less than $300.

Kratos did appear as a character in Fortnite, though, which is playable on the Switch. So, it may not be the God of War experience you were hoping for, but technically there was a point where you could play as the God of War himself.

Sadly, Kratos hasn’t been in the Fortnite item shop since January 2021 – but with the new game now out, there may be a very slim chance he could return. Obviously, this is pure speculation – so let’s wait and see.
