This weekend is jam-packed full of showcases. Heaven or hell for anyone in the games industry, but a pretty good time for gamers overall. The headline event is Geoff Keighley’s Summer Games Fest, though Sunday’s Xbox Showcase is going to a huge day as we learn about its future in hardware, the full reveal of Black Ops 6, and what’s in store for Project Latitude (business plan for multiplatform).
We’ve written up a comprehensive primer on everything you should expect across this weekend and beyond.

Perhaps the biggest gaming event of the year, Keighley has confirmed that over 50 companies will be exhibiting their games this year:

Capcom’ have recently seen ‘s MOnster HUnter Wilds is set to be one of the biggest reveals this year, and with last week’s PlayStation Showcase having revealed most of the Sony games, attention will be pointed at various other studios instead.
Sega, for example, just released the first five Mega Man games on Switch Online, while Team cherry have recently made Hollow Knight free for a week – perhaps in preparation for a surprise reveal for Silksong. Hah.
Netflix are there, perhaps with some stuff about their Netflix Games program, while Wizards of the Coast are attending through the Magic: The Gathering brand. Unless they’ve come to reveal something minor for Arena, could we expect a new MTG game to drop?
Steam’s presence is interesting, too.
Bandai will likely use up their slot to remind us that a DLC for a little title known as Elden Ring is going to be releasing soon, while Devolver will have some interesting indies to show off. Blumhouse Games will be making a first appearance – you will recognise them as the studio behind Insidious and Paranormal Activity, among many other Hollywood horrors.
What’s happening at Xbox Showcase
While Xbox have kept pretty quiet about what’s happening at Xbox Showcase, the next Doom game is likely the focus. The Verge’s Tom Warren thinks this one of two headline games they will reveal at this showcase, while Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and a look at the first Starfield DLC are also within sight.
Halo: Combat Evolved is also reportedly making its way onto PlayStation, so that would also be worth a pretty big headline.
