Let’s be honest, Pokémon Go was enormous back in the day, and whilst it’s hype has died down, there’s still plenty of fans who still play, and more importantly, plenty more new games to play that are just like it!

Here’s a few games that we think you’ll enjoy if you had fun with the exploration, open-world, interactive and augmented reality features of Pokémon Go.

Pikmin Bloom

Pikmin Bloom is the latest location-based offering from Nintendo and Niantic, the same company that offer Pokémon Go, so expect lots of the same fun and interactive AR experiences from Pokémon Go. Not only does it offer some of the great features of Pokémon Go, it’s within another beloved Nintendo universe of Pikmin, making it a sure fire hit for fans. The new app includes gameplay and activities that are designed to encourage walking and make going outside more enjoyable

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

The newest title from Pokémon takes all the best critters and creatures from the previous titles and spins them into a massive open-world adventure. If you’re a fan of Pokémon Go, there’s no doubt that exploring the wilderness, parks and cities was a huge pull. To fulfil that role, Scarlet and Violet has an amazing large sand-box style map with lots of things to do, and plenty more Pokémon to catch!

This game is already getting huge praise from critics and Pokémon fans a like, only being released in November 2022, it’s already a favourite. Here’s the best prices we could find here:

Alternatively, older titles like Pokémon Arceus Legends are equally similar to Pokémon Go’s exploration and discovery elements. Check out the prices of that here:

Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet – Nintendo Switch

Ingress Prime

Look no further than Niantic’s first GPS game for a great game with great similarities to Pokemon Go. In what’s a key trope amongst augmented reality games, there is a world hidden beneath everyday lives, with exotic and alien matter spewing into our reality at various hotspots. These hotspots are usually found within cultural and highly populated landmarks.

Two rival conspiracy theory teams will recruit you to seek out these rifts with your phone so you may control these hotspots yourself. It’s great fun!

The Walking Dead: Our World

This Walking Dead zombie killing location game turns your virtual neighbourhood into a zombie infested hellscape. Unlike most of the games on this list, Our World doesn’t require you to leave the comfort of your home to fight hordes of zombies and build safe houses. However, if you want to encounter valuable item crates or flex your zombie-killing abilities, you’ll need to brave the streets.
