Game Stars is set to become a TV series in 2005, set to roll out as a ten episode series in the Summer/Autumn of 2005. The series will end with an hour long episode looking at the Game Stars awards.

ITV’s Director of Licensing has this to say about the program:

“Gaming has changed so much in recent years. The increasing maturity of gamers has created an appealing demographic and is a programming area we are very keen to develop. As one of the world’s favourite entertainment pastimes, it is an area rich in content, ideas, creativity and fun for all kinds of people right across the UK. We want to help give the nation’s games fans more access to the latest and greatest games.“

As well as the latest games news, the show is to include a hunt for the UK’s Greatest Gamer. While it is doubtful that they will find the UK’s greatest gamer, it should be pretty entertaining. More information on the show will be announced soon.
