Frostpunk developer 11 Bit Studios has been teasing its next game with a mysterious new trailer, with a full reveal promised this August.

While brief, the trailer depicts what appears to be the aftermath of a bloody tussle in a snowy oil field. A description tweeted alongside the video reads “Beyond snow-covered tracks, with wasteland upon wasteland, we go hoping against hope. Join us on (August 12) to look Fate in the eye, and find whether Fortune still favours us as the bold.”

However, we also first heard about the studio’s new game all the way back in October 2019. Then known under the codename “Project 8” managing partner Pawel Miechowski claimed the title would be “an AA+ title with a message to share” and would release on both PC and next-gen (now current-gen) consoles.

It’ll also almost certainly carry on the studio’s trend for games with a message in the spirit of Frostpunk and This War of Mine with Miechowski adding: “When we defined our philosophy of creating meaningful entertainment, our goal was to make games that are addicting, well-done gameplay-wise and at the same time having power to spread a message or provoke to thinking.”

It looks like we’ll find out more on August 11. For now, check out the teaser for yourself down below.
