Playground Games has dropped its latest Series 5 update for Forza Horizon 5 including the addition of sign language support.

The headline feature sees both American Sign Language and British Sign Language options added for the game’s cutscenes. Once installed players will be able to activate the option for cutscenes and see them signed by members of the deaf and hard of hearing community. They’ll be able to adjust things like placement of the signer, and even the colour and opacity of the background.

Playground Games built the Forza Horizon 5 sign language implementation with extensive support from the deaf & hard of hearing community. These included workshops and consultation with members of the community and accessibility advocates, who helped implement the feature. You can check out their journey in this Microsoft Blog along with an accompanying video, which we’ve included below.

Elsewhere, the update also includes the latest round of fixes and changes, but also transforms the Horizon Stadium into a stunt park for the new PR Stunt Carnival event. On top of this, players will find Mexico dressed up with a carnival theme with new decorations dotted around. There’ll be sixteen new PR stunts added around the map for the duration of the Series. You can check out the details of that and the new cars over here.

The patch arrives today for Forza Horizon 5 on the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC and if you want the full patch notes, they’re just over here.
