Fortnite is known for collaborating with popular IPs. Yet another viral phenomenon, Squid Game, is making its way into the game in conjunction with its final season on Netflix this week. Announced at Unreal Fest 2025, Epic has joined hands with Squid Game to allow UEFN creators to make islands using the official IP tools, which will be available to them on June 27.

However, around the same time, Fortnite is also launching its own Squid Game mode with iconic locations from the show, its deadly games, and bringing its characters, right from the Guards to the Player, right into the shop.

In the previous week, Epic shared several teasers showcasing a new map in the game’s Reload mode, and today, a brief trailer builds the excitement. Here’s what fans can expect with the official collab.

Fortnite x Squid Game collab to bring iconic locations and new character skins

The Fortnite x Squid Game crossover, which will debut on June 27, 2025, alongside the series finale, features a thrilling Squid Game-themed map in Fortnite Reload, combining the show’s high-stakes drama with Fortnite’s fast-paced battle royale. Leaked information reveals a perfectly designed environment created with UEFN, which includes popular Squid Game rooms such as the central game arena, the dormitory, and a reimagined “Red Light, Green Light” section.

The map uses Fortnite’s llama as the show’s piggy bank and introduces new features such as “Square Meals,” a food-themed zone with minigames inspired by Squid Game activities like tug-of-war and glass bridge. A new Squid Game Red Eye SMG weapon is rumored to be released, along with probable changes to Fortnite Reload’s revive mechanics to reflect the show’s elimination stakes, though specifics remain unknown.

The Item Shop will release 14 Squid Game-inspired skins, including five male and five female default Fortnite characters in green participant tracksuits (with changeable jacket numbers), two new characters, a red guard skin, and a black guard skin (with customisable mask symbols). A skin inspired by the legendary Red Light/Green Light doll, Young-hee, is also featured with a remixed version with Cuddle Team Leader.

Additional cosmetics include two bags, a wrap, three sprays, a loading screen, and a banner icon. Prices are expected to be around 1,200 V-Bucks or more; however, fans are frustrated by the lack of prominent Squid Game characters such as Gi-Hun and the Front Man, as well as generic skin designs.
