Over the past few years, Epic Games has done many V-Bucks refunds in Fortnite. This happened mostly due to incorrect pricing of items or wrong Item Shop images. Due to this, the game developer has refunded millions of V-Bucks, allowing players to use them once again. The most recent refund occurred shortly after the v31.10 update came out.

If you received free V-Bucks and you’re not sure what happened, this article will explain everything you need to do. Also, if you haven’t logged in yet, we’ll help you figure out if you are eligible for the refund.

Why did Fortnite players receive another V-Bucks refund?

Before the release of Fortnite Festival, the game did not have Jam Tracks (songs). Instead, it had Lobby Music. These tracks were usable only in lobbies and were obtained both through the Battle Pass and the Item Shop. Since the release of the Festival mode, Epic also added Jam Tracks, and some Lobby Music songs were turned into them.

Over the past eight months, the Fortnite developer has sent out several V-Bucks refunds when converting Lobby Music into Jam Tracks. Whenever this happened, players who previously owned Lobby Music were given a refund.

Each track from Lobby Music is worth 200 V-Bucks, and the latest refund included four of them. Due to this, eligible players received 200 to 800 V-Bucks. On top of this, Epic Games did not remove any items from their lockers. Instead, they were simply “duplicated,” as they were added as a different type of cosmetic item.

The next Fortnite update is scheduled for mid-September, and we can expect even more refunds with it. Considering that Fortnite gets new Jam Tracks every week, new refunds might be around the corner!
