Epic Games reveals release dates of future Fortnite updates

Since its release in September 2017, Fortnite has received hundreds of updates. These updates have shaped the future of the game, helping it become a global phenomenon. Thanks to them, Fortnite is still the king of the battle royale genre in 2025, yet there is so much more that the game has to offer.

Epic Games has found a recipe for success and will stick to it. The game developer recently updated the Trello board, revealing release dates of future updates. On top of this, Epic revealed upcoming features that will come to Fortnite and UEFN, so let’s take a look at the update schedule.

Next Fortnite season will have four major updates

Fortnite Chapter 6 – Season 1 will end on February 22, which was also confirmed with the roadmap. This is when the v34.00 update will come out, bringing many map changes, new items, new Battle Pass, and much more. Season 2 of the current chapter will have four major updates, with March and April getting two updates each, and will conclude in early May.

Although these dates may change, most are expected to follow the planned schedule. Notably, Fortnite updates in March will be released on Thursdays, while April updates are set for Tuesdays. Additionally, it seems Epic Games will continue to launch new seasons on Fridays.

The roadmap offers a glimpse into Fortnite’s exciting future, highlighting several new features for UEFN. Many of these updates are set to roll out in the first half of 2025, including the highly anticipated killcam.
