Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 is one that players either love or hate. With the focus on high-paced mobility due to the Nitro Fists and vehicles, it has descended into chaos and some players just want a more traditional experience and are looking forward to the season being over.

It looks like players will now be able to get that, at least in Ranked, as Epic Games has announced that vehicles and Nitro Fists have been disabled in both Ranked and Zero Build Ranked.

“During All Sweat Summer, Ranked Battle Royale and Zero Build will be switching things up a bit! From July 4 to July 18:- Vehicles and vehicle items are disabled, including Boss Cars.- Nitro Fists are also disabled.- Characters are no longer Hireable, but hostile Characters and Bosses (and their Medallions) are still present.”

It will be interesting to see whether the player count for Ranked mode increases over the next couple of weeks. This season hasn’t been a huge hit with many players due to the chaotic meta that focuses on vehicles, it isn’t unusual to just see an end game of cars, especially in Ranked mode. This has also led to Fortnite Reload overtaking the core Battle Royale mode in popularity, it does make me question whether Epic Games put the mode together in response to the negative feedback to the season.

These changes have been made as the All Sweat Summer event kicks off, bringing a new set of challenges to unlock summer-themed cosmetics. Fortnite Reload also has its own set of challenges and players can unlock the Rezzbrella Glider in the mode. Finally, Fortnite Festival Season 4 is still ongoing so players can unlock the iconic metal band Metallica as skins. The latest Fortnite Festival Jam Tracks have been released too, which have added artists including BTS, Gwen Stefani, and Kendrick Lamar to the game.
