Fortnite has drastically evolved over the past seven years. It no longer looks or feels the same as it did back in 2017, which is a great thing. Thanks to these changes, Epic Games has managed to make it the king of the battle royale genre, and it’s unlikely that any game will dethrone Fortnite anytime soon. Unfortunately, not all of the changes have been positively received by the community.
While Epic has tried to make Fortnite feel fresh and new, some changes may have been too much. Many players recently complained about stamina, one of the core mechanics in the game, and would like to see it changed. Will this happen? We’ll have to wait and see what the game developer says.
Fortnite players are unhappy with stamina
Reddit user FickleDoctor5706 recently made a lengthy post about stamina in the game. The player jokingly claims to be a former smoker who has more stamina than Fortnite characters. “I am so sick and tired of how awful the stamina pool is in this game,” the user posted on the network, gaining hundreds of comments from other members of the community.
As many players are aware, Epic Games added Tactical Sprinting with the release of Chapter 3. However, this sprinting is not unlimited, as it requires stamina. Stamina is also a requirement for jumping and is essential to survival in Zero Build modes.
Many other players agreed with the post, pointing out how slow they feel this season. This is somewhat expected, as the last season had Nitro, which allowed unlimited sprinting. Due to this, it’s no surprise that a lot of players have asked Epic to buff the stamina meter. Some of them even suggested unlimited stamina throughout an entire match, which is rather controversial.
Nitro is certainly one of the best items Fortnite has ever had, but unfortunately, it was seasonal. Many players felt empowered when using it, and its absence has led to a significant shift in gameplay dynamics. This has resulted in frustration for those used to a more fluid movement style, and it will be interesting to see if Epic Games will do something about this.
As we look forward to future updates, we hope that the changes will strike a balance between challenge and enjoyment. After all, drastically buffing stamina or making it unlimited certainly wouldn’t be good for the game either.
