The latest Fortnite update has landed, and it brings along with it an all new split-screen mode for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 that allows two players to play Duos or Squads on the same console.

Other changes to Battle Royale mode in this update include the ability to preview what's in the Item Shop using your mobile device, as well as changes to the ammo indicator and increasing the daily Item Shop gifting limit from three to five – and as you'd probably expect, preparations for the Star Wars event taking place next week.

Save The World mode meanwhile gets a new Holly Jolly Ransom questline in time for the holidays, alongside the return of the survival based Frostnite. A bunch of new festive content has also been added, including Jingle Jess, Sentry Gunner Krampus and the return of Crackshot, The Holiday Soldier. New weapons include the Ginger Blaster, the Paper Shredder and the Snowball launcher, and the Loot Llamas have also been given a winter makeover.

You can check out a full list of what the updates bring on the Fortnite website – here's the patch notes for Battle Royale and the ones for Save the World – and the update should be live for Fortnite on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC by the time you read this.
