Epic Games released the Fortnite OG mode on December 6, which turned out to be a massive success. Veteran players got a chance to relive their memories, while new players were given an opportunity to play the season that was released long before they started their Fortnite journeys. Due to this, it’s no surprise that the mode peaked at 1.3 million concurrent players.
The original mode is certainly fun and was quite challenging before Epic added bots to it. However, the Fortnite developer has a different plan. The ranked mode of Fortnite OG will come out soon and will have no bots. Epic Games revealed the release date of the ranked playlist, so let’s check it out.
When will the Fortnite OG Ranked mode come out?
According to Epic Games’ post on X (formerly Twitter), the ranked version of Fortnite OG will be released on Monday, December 16. Considering that we recently got a new update, there will be no need to download a new one. Instead, the mode will be automatically added to the game and will likely be playable at 9 AM Eastern Time.
The Ranked OG mode will have both Battle Royale and Zero Build versions. While the classic mode with building has been much more popular so far, adding a competitive version of Zero Build is certainly a step in the right direction. The OG mode with building peaked at 1.3 million concurrent players, while Zero Build’s peak was at only 342,000.
Besides the ranking system, the Fortnite OG Ranked mode will completely remove bots. This will make the game more challenging and will be perfect for anyone who’s looking to compete against real players. Furthermore, the upcoming mode will likely feature several free cosmetic items, although this hasn’t been confirmed yet.
