Fortnite is finally getting its OG mode! Epic Games will release it on Friday, and thanks to its patch notes, we already know what’s waiting for us. The game developer has clarified that this will be a permanent game mode. It will also have a new seasonal pass that contains three remixed skins and more than 40 other rewards.
In this article, we will take a look at everything that the Fortnite OG mode will bring.
The Fortnite OG mode will be available in Zero Build and classic modes
For the first time, Fortnite players will be able to experience the first-ever island in Zero Build mode. The OG will be available in Solos and Squads right away, as well as in classic and no-building playlists. Epic also confirmed the OG Pass with three skins, revealing that it has a total of 45 tiers, while each skin will have multiple styles.
Classic weapons, including traps, will make a return as well. These are the items that will be available on the first day:
- Assault Rifle
- Burst Assault Rifle
- Scoped Assault Rifle
- Pump Shotgun
- Tactical Shotgun
- Pistol
- Revolver
- Submachine Gun
- Tactical Machine Gun
- Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle
- Semi-Auto Sniper Rifle
- Grenade Launcher
- Rocket Launcher
- Damage Trap
- Ceiling Zapper
- Wall Dynamo
Most importantly, the Double Pump mechanic is returning to Fortnite!
When it comes to movement features, they will remain in the OG mode. This means that it will be possible to perform sprinting, mantling, sliding, and other movements. Furthermore, Reboot Vans and sniper glares will stay in the game, while building resources will go back to their original cap, which is 999 per resource.
The original map is coming back, although Ziplines and Ascenders will be added to Zero Build to help with movement. Casual players will be able to enjoy the new mode in regular playlists, while Epic will also release the Ranked OG mode for competitive Fortnite players. On top of this, OG cups will also be added shortly after the release of the new mode.
Chapter 1 – Season 1 of the OG mode is scheduled to end on January 31, 2025.
