With the launch of Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 1, Epic not only brought back iconic POIs such as Tomato Town and Greasy Grove, but it also revived the excitement of classic Battle Royale. This season was distinguished by its unique gameplay, such as the infamous Double Pump meta, in which players could carry two pump shotguns for deadly effect, increasing the game’s competitive edge and strategic depth.
The restoration of these traditional mechanics and the original map layout was welcomed with enormous enthusiasm, resulting in a large increase in player involvement. The OG Pass added to the excitement, delivering a collection of remixed skins that were based on classic Fortnite skins. However, as OG Chapter 1 Season 1 comes to a close, anticipation grows for Season 2.
Here’s everything known so far for Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 2 including its release time estimate, OG Pass skins, and weapons coming to the game.

Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 2 release time estimate and countdown
Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 2 will be released on January 31, 2025, at 7 AM E.T. as per previous downtimes that have started at 4 AM and have lasted for around 2-3 hours. Epic posted the official key art for the season with its release date, confirming the new season will arrive soon.
During the downtime, Fortnite servers are offline as Epic deploys a maintenance and content patch in the game that brings in new content.
Fortnite OG Season 2 map changes and return of Tilted
Fortnite has confirmed that fan-favorite location, Tilted Towers will make a comeback on the Chapter 1 island. Alongside Tilted, it is also rumored that the classic Season 2 map will also bring back POIs like Junk Junction, Haunted Hills, Snobby Shores, Shify Shafts, and Loot Lake.
This means most of the changes will occur towards the west side of the map while the east side in the current OG Chapter 1 Season 1 map will remain the same. But this is also subject to change, given Epic may have plans to keep some POIs as mere landmarks in the game.
Fortnite OG Season 2 Battle pass skins
As seen in the teaser, the new season will bring remixes of three iconic Chapter 1 skins which are Black Knight, Cuddle Team Leader, and Sparkle Specialist. All three characters were seen in the image, however a new remixed version of the same would be brought back in the new OG pass.
Since Epic has confirmed that old Battle Pass skins will not make a comeback, it’s going to be quite a disappointment for OG fans who have been wanting to get their hands on the classic Black Knight outfit in Fortnite. Still, the community is excited about the arrival of the new remixed outfits and hope to see some classic skins make their way into the Item Shop.
Fortnite OG Season 2 weapons
According to leaks, the iconic Fortnite weapon, Zapotron is going to make a comeback in OG Chapter 1 Season 2. To those unaware, Zapotron is a high-tech energy rifle that can be fired normally or can be charged up to fire a single powerful shot that does extreme damage and can pierce through multiple enemies.
It is best known for its brief but unforgettable appearance in Battle Royale. Originally released in the Pre-Season, it was withdrawn after only 30 minutes owing to balancing difficulties, making it one of the game’s most rare weapons. It employs Energy Cells as ammunition and may be shot in bursts or charged for up to three times the damage.
In Save the World, the Zapotron is a laser sniper capable of piercing foes with a charged shot. Its distinctive mechanics and legendary status have kept it in the hearts of the Fortnite community.
