Fortnite players are always wondering about what Epic Games has in store for them next after the ongoing season comes to an end. With the current Chapter 2 Remix, loopers were hit hard with nostalgia for the iconic Chapter 2 island and gameplay once again, but with a unique twist.
However, the same nostalgia was experienced by players a year ago when Fortnite OG arrived and it shattered all records Epic had set since the game’s launch. Now in a breakthrough announcement, Fortnite has officially announced that the beloved OG season will make a comeback, just the way players wanted.
Fortnite OG makes a return as a game mode this December
Fortnite has officially announced that the OG season will become a permanent game mode on December 6. The mode will be called Fortnite OG and will kick off with the Chapter 1 Season 1 island.
Epic further added that players will be able to relive Battle Royale from the start and explore the OG map, collect OG loot, and relive OG seasons when it’s out. Furthermore, leaks suggest that every month the mode will receive an update which will change seasons as it happened in the original Fortnite seasons back in 2017.
Although it is still unclear if this will have any impact on the core Chapter 6 Battle Royale gameplay which is said to bring a Japanese theme and new POIs and gameplay mechanics.
However, players are hoping for the mode to offer a similar OG experience as Reload and are looking forward to reliving some of the classic live events in-game once again.
