Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 has been quite controversial so far. The season’s focus on cars doesn’t sit well with many players, which has been the main complaint. To address these complaints, Epic Games released a big Fortnite update earlier in the season, removing cars from Ranked mode and making a few more changes.

At first, Epic wanted to keep this game-changing Fortnite update for only two weeks. However, the development team had a change of heart and will keep it in the game for the rest of the season. However, there is one thing Epic decided to change.

Epic Games will keep the big Fortnite update until the end of Season 3

Back on July 4, Epic disabled cars in the Ranked mode. This includes both regular vehicles and boss cars, as well as vehicle items. On top of this, the game developer disabled Nitro Fists and prevented players from hiring NPCS. Originally, the development team wanted to keep this change until July 18, but that is no longer the case.

Shortly after the release of the Fortnite x Pirates of the Caribbean update, Epic Games announced another major change. “We’re extending the changes to reflect Tournament Rules in Ranked Battle Royale & Zero Build for the remainder of the current season,” Fortnite Status posted on X (formerly Twitter), while also pointing out that Ship-in-a-Bottle, a new Mythic item, will not be present in Ranked modes.

Interestingly, Epic also decided to keep Nitro Fists enabled in Ranked Zero Build. Considering that this item provides mobility to players, this decision makes sense. On the other hand, the controversial item will not be available in Ranked Battle Royale.

The development team will continue to monitor the feedback and release more changes if necessary. The next major Fortnite update will likely come out on Tuesday, July 23, and we might get more tweaks with it. With Season 3 ending on August 16, Fortnite will get two more major updates.
