Epic Games will release Fortnite Chapter 6 on Sunday, December 1. Despite the release being two days away, we already know most of the content that will come with the new season. The trailer for the next chapter was leaked on Friday morning, revealing interesting details about it, including new movement mechanics that will change the game.

Fortnite has always experimented with new movement features, from tactical sprinting to sliding. Due to this, the addition of new ones is not surprising at all.

New movement mechanics showcased in Fortnite Chapter 6 trailer

The leaked Chapter 6 trailer showed off the new island and new skins coming on Sunday. It also gave us a brief look into masks and new weapons that will be added to the loot pool. However, the most interesting addition might be new movement features. These mechanics were leaked last year and will finally be added in the new chapter.

The trailer shows these new movements coming in the next Fortnite chapter:

  • Roll landing
  • Boosted leap with no fall damage
  • Wall jump
  • Wall scramble

It’s important to note that climbing walls is already possible in Fortnite. However, it can mostly be done on player-built structures for now. Judging by the trailer, it’ll be possible to climb different types of walls once Chapter 6 – Season 1 comes out. This movement mechanic will likely use stamina, similar to tactical sprinting.

It’s safe to say that these new features will force Fortnite players to once again adapt their playstyle. The upcoming season looks fast-paced, and it’ll be interesting to see how the community accepts it. For those who like simpler gameplay, Epic Games will release a new OG mode on December 6, only five days after the launch of Chapter 6.
