Fortnite is known for foreshadowing future live events and seasons within its questline, gameplay, lore, or even in the form of easter eggs in-game. For instance, in Chapter 3, Epic showed a Port-A-Potty crashed near the desert, referencing to an Indiana Jones collab which turned out to be a reality in the following season.

Similarly, Epic has been hinting at a Chapter 2 OG season all along, but what shocked players the most is that on the current Chapter 5 map, a hidden easter egg hid clues for the upcoming Remix Prelude live event in plain sight.

Fortnite Chapter 5 map pond is a direct easter egg to Remix Prelude live event

Fortnite players have now discovered that a pond on the Chapter 5 Season 3 and Chapter 5 Season 4 map is shaped like a butterfly and has been hinting towards a Rift Butterfly-themed live event all along.

Epic revealed earlier today that rift butterflies will play a major role in the upcoming Remix Prelude live event which will kick off Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix. However, players are currently drawing speculations about what will take place during the event and how the transition between the current and past islands would happen.

On the other hand, they’ve also discovered that the pond near Redline Rig, which has two Nitro Rings between them has been a hidden easter egg for more than 6 months that was hidden in plain sight.

Players who just found out about this were astounded and turned in their amusement, with one of them saying, “OMG! It’s all connected.” Another user wrote, “Yo, we didn’t notice from NOW!?!” A third user commented, “Calling it now. Zero point is under it.”

While it might be just a random design choice, knowing Epic, we’d say it’s definitely intended to be an easter egg as these subtle teases is what excites the community as to what’s next for them in Fortnite.
