Epic Games has announced that over seven million people have played Fortnite since the game’s launch. While the accompanying picture on the tweet does have Fortnite Battle Royale’s logo, the text doesn’t specify how many of the seven million played either the full game or just the recently released free-to-play Battle Royale mode.

Epic has also detailed the latest update to Fortnite Battle Royale, revealing that Supply Drops are coming back after the studio fixed the landing errors these were having in the game, and you’ll be allowed to buddy-up with a friend thanks to the new Duos option. For the full list of tweaks, check out the above link.

The free Battle Royale mode has caused an awful lot of controversy because of its likeness to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, however it’s clearly proven a massive success for the studio, and in such a short space of time.

I’m sure the debate on Battle Royale modes will rage on until the next game that does it…and then the game after that…and then the game after that, and so on.

Fortnite is out now on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
