Former General Manager of Bioware Casey Hudson has revealed his new studio is working on a brand new sci-fi universe.

As Video Games Chronicle first spotted, Humanoid Studios updated their website over the weekend. The update reveals a few more titbits of information on the first game from the studio Hudson established last summer. We now know the project is a “multi platform AAA game, focusing on character-driven narrative in an all-new science-fiction universe.”

The website also features some new concept art, although we don’t know if it’s from the new game or not. It includes a spaceman looking at a rather large alien skull, a futuristic mountain range and some kind of space-café. The team’s mission, it claims, is to deliver “magical interactive storytelling by connecting talented creatives to powerful tools in a safe and supportive environment.”

The studio is based in Canada, with offices in both British Colombia and Alberta. Hudson’s not the only Bioware alumni there either, with Senior Producer Melanie Faulknor who was also a producer on Mass Effect Legendary Edition and Dragon Age Inqusition. Art Director Izaak Moody, meanwhile, has previously worked at Turn 10 on the Forza series.

There’s probably still quite a wait for this first title, of course, with Humanoid still recruiting for several major roles. These include Lead Writers, Senior Level Designers, Gameplay Designers and more. But given the pedigree of Mass Effect, all eyes will be on Casey Hudson & Humanoid Studios’ first game whenever it does get formally announced.
