Ikumi Nakamura, the former creative director on Ghostwire: Tokyo, has unveiled her new Japan-based studio Unseen.

The announcement calls the new venture a “borderless and mysterious” game development studio. They claim their Tokyo base will act as a terminal “where different cultures intersect and a hub for artists to gather”. Together, they hope to “transcend beyond the realm of video games.”

Nakamura has put together an experienced team since departing Tango Gameworks and establishing the newly-named studio a year ago. They include Naoki Kataki who joins her from Tango and has also worked on several Resident Evil games. There’s also former Ubisoft art director Liam Wong, and Raúl Ibarra as Animation Director. The latter of those two previously worked in a similar role on Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Misuzu Watanabe, previously a designer on Devil May Cry 5, also joins as Game Director.

The team are already beavering away on their first game together, though there’s not much information on it just yet aside from it being an all-new IP. Ikumi Nakamura has, however, put out an introduction video for Unseen to welcome the new studio into the world. You can check that out for yourself down below. When we hear more on Unseen’s first game, we’ll let you know.
