With FC 25 already out, it’s time to get excited about the launch of the other big yearly football title, as Football Manager 2025 is just over the horizon. The release date for the hugely popular football management sim from Sports Interactive has been confirmed, and with so many massive features set to feature, we’re incredibly excited for it to finally drop.
So if you’re wondering when you can expect to play FM25, you’ve come to the right place. We’ll take you through when the full release date is, as well as going through the game’s trailer and what new features are in store for us in this year’s game.
When does FM25 come out?
FM25 will be released in March 2025. After months of waiting, an initial release date of 26 November was finally confirmed with the game’s first trailer dropping at the end of September. This has already been pushed back from the typical early November release date, but following a post on X (formerly Twitter), it was confirmed that the game was not ready and would be delayed a further four months until March.
FM25 trailer
As previously mentioned, the first FM25 trailer was released on September 30, 2024. Unfortunately, if you were hoping to see some gameplay from the new game, you’re out of luck as the trailer largely focused on showing off the various platforms the game will be available on, before announcing the game’s release date for the first time.
However, at the very end of the trailer, a graphic was shown confirming that the team will be releasing future content in the lead up to release to go more in-depth into the new mechanics. Starting with women’s football on October 7, there are set to be further deep dives into tactics, your manager, the interface, the match experience and more to look forward to.
FM25 new features
FM25 is set for the biggest upgrade the series has seen in years. With the game switching over to the Unity engine for the first time, we’re set for a massive improvement in the game’s graphics, something Sports Interactive describe as “the biggest technical and visual advancement for the series in a generation”.
Furthermore, the game will be the first in the series to feature women’s football. Women’s leagues had been initially slated to be introduced in FM24, but with the scope of the project being bigger than initially anticipated, it was decided that the release would be pushed back a year to make its debut in FM25 instead.
