The final two classes for FromSoftware’s quickly-approaching co-op spin-off Elden Ring Nightreign have leaked online. As a celebration of the studio’s Soulsborne genre—going as far as to bring back classic Dark Souls enemies—one of the new classes goes as far as to bring back mechanics from Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
Elden Ring Nightreign revives Sekiro
A recent leak on social media shows physical keychains for the final two Elden Ring Nightreign classes in Japan. The two keychains reveal the final two unannounced classes for the upcoming three-player co-op game: Executor and Revenant.
The first class, Executor, is a katana-focused class that focuses on parries, just like the main combat loop of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Players will be able to “draw” or “summon” their katana to quickly parry attacks coming their way.
While rights issues stops FromSoftware from directly reviving enemy designs and characters from that game, this new class is essentially the closest we’ll get to a follow-up.
The second class, Revenant, is a summoner class, allowing players to summon ghostly skeletons to fight enemies or protect them. In the leaked image, the Revenant class appears to use a harp as a weapon to summon their minions on the battlefield.
Elden Ring Nightreign is the first of two upcoming multiplayer games from FromSoftware, a far cry from the studio’s typical focus on single-player adventures. While the studio is currently focusing on a multiplayer kick with the release of both Nightreign and The Duskbloods, CEO Hidetaka Miyazaki promises that the studio is making more single-player games in the future.
