FIFA fans have reportedly been invited to participate in a closed beta test for FIFA 15 Ultimate Team.

Due to start on Xbox One next Thursday, August 21, the alleged beta will let players try out the new features of this year's game five weeks ahead of the game's release next month.

The invite suggests that the beta may only be available on Xbox One, with invites appearing to be limited to "highly valued" FIFA Ultimate Team users.

EA has yet to announce a closed beta for this year's game, but with Microsoft's Gamescom press conference due to kick off tomorrow expect to hear something official soon.

UPDATE: According to a deleted page on EA's support site, the closed beta will be available to "randomly chosen" Origin members on Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

The site adds that a FIFA 15 demo is due to release "soon".
