Sony’s polished off a list of top 10 best-selling PSN games for the past year, and it’s absolutely no surprise to learn that FIFA 18 scooped the top spot in Europe, while the latest Call of Duty game is sitting smugly at the top for the US.
FIFA 2018 isn’t the only FIFA in the mix for the European top 10, with FIFA 2017 sneaking in at eighth place. Rockstar’s GTA V is in at number four, where it’s been for basically the entirety of last year anyway, and the US number one Call of Duty WWII is in at second place. There are also gongs for Rocket League, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy, ‘cos apparently we’re more in the grip of nostalgia than our cousins over the water are.
The US chart is a different picture. Call of Duty: WWII managed to fend off some pretty stiff competition to first place, beating out the likes of Destiny 2 (also published by Activision, who will no doubt be having roast turkey again next Christmas), which is conspicuously absent from the European chart, and Horizon: Zero Dawn.
There are a couple of surprises in the mix though, with the much-troubled Friday the 13th slashing its way into third place and the utterly brilliant Rocket League hitting no. seven. Check out the full lists below:
