Sony has just held its State of Play event for May 2024, giving gamers a look at what is to come over the coming months and years with brand new game announcements and new information regarding its upcoming releases from both first and third-party developers. Here is everything that happened during the State of Play event.
Concord Release Date and Beta Announced
It was announced during State of Play that Concord is set to launch on August 23rd, 2024. However, players will have an opportunity to play the game early as a beta will begin in July. Players who pre-order Concord from June 6th will be able to play the beta early with up to four friends and receive the Monarch Pack.

God Of War Ragnarok PC Port Announced
It has been announced that God of War Ragnarok will be coming to PC on September 19th, 2024 and will feature unlocked frame rates, super widescreen support, and Nvidia DLSS 3.7, AMD FSR 3.1, and Intel XESS 1.3 capabilities.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins Announced
Dynasty Warriors: Origins was announced during State of Play, marking the first new entry in the series since 2021’s Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires. No release date was given but it is set to be released in 2025.
Infinity Nikki Gameplay Trailer Revealed
The open-world dress-up adventure game Infinity Nikki was shown off during State of Play and will be going into beta testing in Q3 2024.

Marvel Rivals recently saw a successful alpha test, and it has now been announced that the game will go into closed beta in July 2024.
Where Winds Meet Announced For PS5
Where Winds Meet was first revealed back in 2022 but so far has only been announced for PC. It has now been confirmed that the game will also be coming to PS5 but no release date has been given.
Until Dawn Remake Gameplay Revealed
The 2015 horror game Until Dawn is set to receive the remake treatment to bring it into the modern age on both PS5 and PC in the Fall of 2024.
Path Of Exile 2 Announced For Console
Path of Exiles 2 builds upon the incredibly popular free-to-play action RPG that has become one of the most-played games on PC. It has now been announced that Path of Exile 2 will be launching in early access in late 2024 on PS5 alongside its PC release. There is currently no news on whether it will also be coming to Xbox.
Silent Hill 2 Remake Release Date Announced
Silent Hill 2 Remake is one of the most highly-anticipated games of 2024. Ahead of the Silent Hill Transmission event that took place after the State of Play, it was announced that Silent Hill 2 Remake is due to be released on October 8th, 2024.
First Monster Hunter Wilds Trailer Released
Capcom has revealed the first trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds, which is set to release in early 2025. Players who have save files for Monster Hunter World and Monster Hunter World Iceborne will be able to receive exclusive weapons and armor.
New Astro Bot Game Announced
To wrap up the State of Play event, Sony announced Astro Bot, the next entry in the series following the 2018 PS4 game Astro Bot Rescue Mission and PS5 tech demo Astro’s Playroom. Players will be able to explore more than 50 exciting worlds when the Astro Bot launches on September 6th, 2024.
