Epic Games yesterday revealed that its first game to be built using Unreal Engine 4 will be Fortnite. The game sees players explore, forage and collaborate during the day to build a fortress, which must then be defended against evil monsters at night.

While Epic announced the game for PC, console versions haven’t been ruled out.

“To be clear – Fortnite is PC primary and first, but we wouldn’t rule out the possibility of other platforms later,” Tweeted Cliff Bleszinski, design director at Epic Games.

It’s not a surprise to see the game currently only confirmed for PC. For Epic to confirm console platforms it would have to effectively announce new consoles from Microsoft and/or Sony. We wouldn’t be surprised to see Fortnite arrive as one of the first XBLA games for the next Xbox should it arrive in stores late in 2013.
