World’s richest man and wannabe gamer Elon Musk has confirmed that he does indeed cheat in popular ARPGs Diablo 4 and Path of Exile 2. After embarrassing himself in front of everyone by playing Path of Exile 2 without a loot filter and without understanding basic game mechanics, the Tesla owner-not-actually-founder has finally admitted that he pays people to play games for him while taking credit.
In private messages with ARPG YouTuber NikoWrex, Musk confirmed that he does have multiple people playing on his accounts to take the top spot on worldwide leaderboards. Revealed in a recent YouTube video released without monetization, NikoWrex showed off private DMs with the billionaire that confirmed what everyone already knew.
Elon Musk cheats at video games
In the 18-minute YouTube video, NikoWrex explained that he was given permission to share the video by Elon Musk. However, the YouTuber also explained that the video was not released “to be supportive to people who pilot their accounts” but also feels like the controversy isn’t “that big of a deal”.
Nevertheless, the YouTuber revealed a number of private messages between himself and Elon Musk. In the messages, Musk confirmed that he does have people level boost his account to quickly nab higher-end gear and take high spots on the worldwide leaderboard.
“The top accounts in Diablo or PoE require multiple people playing the account to win a levelling race.”
BILLIONAIRE ELON MUSK
“It’s impossible to beat the players in Asia if you don’t, as they do,” Musk said when asked about having other people playing on his accounts. “The top accounts in Diablo or PoE require multiple people playing the account to win a levelling race.”
In Diablo 4 and Path of Exile, the use of account sharing is prohibited by the games’ terms of service and is classed as cheating. Furthermore, Musk’s admission also came with comments claiming he was actually good at both games, despite video evidence proving contradictory.
“You may not use your real name as the password for the Account, and you cannot share the Account or the Login Information with anyone, unless the terms of this Agreement allow it,” reads the Blizzard terms of service.
“You must keep all password and login information associated with your Member Account confidential and not disclose such information to any third-party or allow a third-party access to your Member Account without first obtaining Grinding Gear Games’ written consent,” reads the Path of Exile terms and conditions.
He will not apologise
In the Twitter conversation, the YouTuber asked Elon Musk if he would apologise to the Path of Exile community for his recent actions. As expected, the billionaire/Path of Exile cheater shut down any possibility of releasing an apology, saying:
“What would I be apologizing to the PoE community for? Adn who are their elected representatives lmao.”
The billionaire also explained that he would be playing less games over the “next few days” as he has “to prepare for the Presidential transition”.
At the end of the day, yes, Elon Musk is a cheater in both Diablo 4 and Path of Exile 2, something we all knew already. It’s now confirmed, and we can move on. Hey, Diablo 4 devs are defending the Dark Citadel, let’s look at that!
