Hey, where’s that fabled Oblivion remake at, eh? After waiting yonks for the leaked remake to come out, one hilarious fan has created an unofficial Elder Scrolls Oblivion demake where gamers get to do everything they’ve ever wanted to do: slaughter hordes of Adoring Fan clones with a great big sword.
Murder the Adoring Fan in Oblivion Demake
Created by modder Sloth_Johnson, the Oblivion Demake was created with the Easy FPS Editor, a tool used to create “Boomer Shooters” in the same vein as DOOM, Heretic and other classic 90s games.
Shared on Reddit, the hilarious demake places the player in a dungeon adorned with classic Elder Scrolls Oblivion textures. As they enter a room, a swarm of Adoring Fans—my personal worst nightmare—comes charging towards them.
As expected, that extremely blonde to the point of searing eyeballs Wood Elf screams at the top of his lungs. However, this time, there’s such an unnatural amount of them it might be the scariest horror game ever made.
“By Azura, By Azura, By Azura!” those terrifying obsessed creeps scream before being struck down with a handy blade.
Unfortunately, the creator of the Elder Scrolls Oblivion Demake has no plans to release their fun creation. Speaking to fans on the subreddit, they said: “Don’t think I can ever release this sadly, with all of the Bethesda assets and whatnot.”
Following months of leaks regarding The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remake for modern platforms—allegedly using Unreal Engine for its visuals—the awaited Bethesda game is nowhere to be seen. Originally leaked in an official list of Bethesda projects during Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, a remake of the game may have been in the works at some point, but maybe it has fallen through?
Only time will tell if the alleged Oblivion remake is real, but as with any leaked games, take their release with a hefty pinch of salt.
