FromSoftware has released a day-one update for Elden Ring’s Shadows of the Erdtree DLC just over 12 hours before the big expansion is set to go live on PC.
Following a period of server maintenance between 7am and 10am UTC, patch 1.12 delivered a host of handy quality-of-life features, including a new inventory management system, which had been previously revealed in previews, though new hairstyles and Summoning Pool features have also been set out too.
The official Elden Ring Twitter / X account shared images and information on new Summoning Pool features. Any Summoning Pools you’ve already activated now carry over to NG+. They can now also be remotely enabled and disabled with a newly added
To add to all of the above, there are also five new hairstyles to be introduced. While you can select them through the Character Creation menu, you will also be able to retroactively modify your character’s appearance using the Clouded Mirror Stand or Rennala’s Rebirth feature.
As mentioned above, there is also a newly implemented inventory management system. Players will now have a ‘Recent Items’ tab so they can immediately check out anything they’ve just picked up. New items will also now be marked with a ‘!’ to distinguish them from other items.
Of course, with the Elden Ring DLC set to arrive later today, this small patch is only a fraction of what’s in store, and players will be itching to get their hands on the full expansion once it finally drops.
