Elden Ring first released in February earlier this year and took the world by storm. It broke sales records and quickly became the most successful game from developer FromSoftware. Once players managed to get through the hundreds of hours of game on offer, they eventually wanted more.

Fans of the game have been begging for some kind of DLC ever since the initial release and it’s beginning to look like we may finally get some with the Colosseum update. Check out the trailer and everything we know so far below:
When Will Elden Ring Colosseum Release?
Despite no real rumours or hints towards this happening, the Colosseum update has been all but shadow dropped, only being announced 24 hours before we can expect it to release. This new mode will be coming to Elden Ring on the 7th of December 2022.

It may be optimistic, but we are hoping this is just the beginning of Elden Ring news this week, with hopefully a bigger announcement coming during The Game Awards on the 8th.
What is the Elden Ring Colosseum Update?
The Colosseum update coming to Elden Ring will see the Colosseums in the game, that have been closed since the game was released, open for the first time. They will not only be opened but they will also be accompanied by the introduction of PvP arenas in Elden Ring for different types of fights.
This is very similar to The Undead arena that was released in Dark Souls 3.
How much will the Colosseum Update in Elden Ring Cost?
This may just be the best news yet, this update is going to be completely free. So once the patch goes live, you will be able to download the new PvP mode as long as you have the base game installed.
Elden Ring
We think this will be a free DLC prior to the release of paid expansions later on, only Sekiro did not receive any paid expansions in recent years and that was a very different game, so we think DLC coming to Elden Ring is a matter of when not if.
