Microsoft has launched a spooktacular new promotion offering Xbox LIVE Rewards users 300 Microsoft Points back when they spend 2000 MSP on horror-themed films, games, avatar items, and add-ons on Xbox LIVE Marketplace throughout October.

The offer applies to all horror-themed items, including content for Left 4 Dead 2, Resident Evil 5, and The Walking Dead, and eligible films on Xbox Video. For a full list of movies included in the offer, head through to Microsoft’s website.

All Xbox LIVE Rewards members in the UK, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, and Spain are eligible for the offer, and Microsoft says that the points will be deposited back into your account by November 15.

Microsoft announced yesterday that it would be rolling out the Xbox 360 autumn 2012 dashboard update to Xbox LIVE users this week. The update includes a reworked user interface, ‘pins’, and Microsoft’s new music service Xbox Music.
