Techland has announced that Dying Light and Left 4 Dead will be crossing over in a new collaboration, as revealed in a tweet from the game’s official account (via DualShockers).

Although Dying Light 2 is in development and will be arriving next year, the developer is not leaving the first game behind any time soon. Dying Light players enjoyed batches and bundles of free content throughout its time in the sun, like a battle royale, prison breakouts, and a full campaign expansion in The Following.

At the time of writing, we don’t actually know what shape this crossover will take. Details are scant, and Techland has only cheerily stated ‘serious zombie slaying’ in the ‘#left4dead2 style’ is on the way, with an image of survivors wielding creative melee weapons. Like the previous content updates, this could imaginably be a timed mode to coincide with the spooky season, or players could receive themed Left 4 Dead 2 outfits, or maybe even a Dark Carnival level.

Right now, it’s all to play for, and we’ll update this as soon as we know more. Dying Light is out on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
