Speaking at the DICE Summit in Las Vegas, Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America executive vice president of sales and marketing, has said that the download stations will be coming to the US “in a matter of weeks.” Nintendo already has commitments with the gaming retailers EB Games, GameStop and Game Crazy to host the download stations, and it is hoped that negotiations with Target and Wal-Mart will help see the download stations installed at thousands of locations across the US.

Once installed the content available from the download stations will include demos of Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day, Mario Kart DS, True Swing Golf, Pokemon Trozei, Meteos, and Tetris DS. This batch of demos will be joined by a Metroid Prime: Hunters video. The content available from the download stations is expected to be refreshed every quarter.

Once the content has been downloaded onto the DS it will only remain as long as the handheld remains powered up. Turn it off and your download will be lost.
