DrinkBox Studios co-founder Graham Smith has said that the developer is aiming to launch 2D brawler Guacamelee! 2 ‘early next year.’

In an interview with VideoGamer (that’s us!) Smith added that while the studio behind the sequel to 2013’s Guacamelee! is looking to release its upcoming game in early 2018, he couldn’t confirm a date or window ‘because we want the game to be as good as possible, and it’s hard to predict how much time that will take to do.’

You’ll be able to hear the full interview tomorrow where Smith mentions how, during development, the team found that the game was ‘coming in a bit longer’ than the original, and what DrinkBox does to ensure the player is ‘never getting bored,’ as well as a number of other tidbits that fans should find interesting.
