Square Enix has announced that Dragon Quest: Wars will be available to download via Nintendo DSiWare from October 2009.

Dragon Quest: Wars is a turn-based strategy game played out across a number of quick and challenging rounds. The player picks four monster playing pieces to battle on their team, from a line-up of Dragon Quest stars including Slime, Dracky, Hammerhood, Healslime, Chimaera and Golem.

Played across a table-top style arena the ultimate aim of the game is to battle and defend against the opposing team to advance to the other side of the arena.

The game will also take advantage of the DSi’s wireless functionality. Up to four teams will be able to battle it out in the same arena using the Wireless function, while the action can even be taken online thanks to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.

Dragon Quest: Wars will be available for 500 DSi points from October.
