Now that I’ve finally had time to sit down with Diablo 4 again following days of reporting on cancelled Xbox projects (Everwild, Perfect Dark, the new MMO from the ESO devs, and even John Romero’s new project), I’ve been able to experience the new Season 9 Sins of the Horadrim update.
Yep, it’s some more Diablo 4, alright. The new endgame dungeons are nice and challenging and the seasonal powers are fun for a spell, but it seems that we’ll still have to wait until next year’s expansion to get something really exciting.
Diablo 4 massively improves its wardrobe
Nevertheless, there is something vaguely game-changing about Diablo 4 Season 9, but Blizzard didn’t feel like mentioning it in its official patch notes. For fashionable players of Blizzard’s ever-popular ARPG, the live-service game’s virtual wardrobe has been massively improved with just one simple feature.
As shared by Reddit user Ropp_Stark, the wardrobe feature in Diablo 4 Season 9 now has a simple one-click solution to equip an entire set of armour. Players with incredibly messy wardrobes filled with similarly-named gear will be aware of just how big this feature is, and just how much time it will save you whenever you feel like changing up your style.
Now, when you enter the in-game wardrobe, you can simply find one part of an armour set you wish to don and hold-click to equip the entire set. Holy Hell, what an improvement. Now, you can simply open your wardrobe, find the armour set you want, and just equip it instead of attempting to scroll through Blizzard’s menus in an attempt to find your clothes.
I’m not the only one who is elated at this rather small-but-impactful change. In fact, one player explained it best in a lot less words than I: “The inconsistent naming of various set pieces drove me nuts. This is a great QoL change for those of us with lots of transmogs!”
“Oh and they have previews for ALL cosmetic items, with a shortcut to the store to purchase the items you don’t already own. It is a better way to preview the items on my character IMO,” said another fan. “AND you can see how store sets look dyed, major win”.
More of this, please, Blizzard. More of actually fixing issues with the game or improving annoying aspects of it instead of trying to sneakily force players into buying battle passes with annoying clicks. It would help a lot of us actually enjoy Diablo 4 again.
