The awesome Witch Doctor class is almost returning in Diablo 4 Season 7, but not quite. While a new class probably won’t be released until the game’s next expansion, the new seasonal skills are essentially everything that Witch Doctor players want.

Diablo 4 Witch Doctor

Season 7, Season of Witchcraft, adds 25 powers that players can unlock and use during the season. These powers allow you to control armies of frogs, summon powerful tornados and more.

Long-time players of the Diablo series may have noticed that the extensive new powers are essentially a new Witch Doctor class, one of the unique classes in Diablo 3.

While the class was a fan-favourite of the previous game, it has not returned for Diablo 4. However, with the arrival of 25 witchcraft powers in Season 7, players can essentially transform their build into a makeshift Witch Doctor.

With this in mind, it’s actually rather disappointing to see Diablo 4 release such an extensive set of skills instead of taking the extra time to turn them into a full class. After all, the release of Spiritborn was so successful that 60% of players jumped ship, how many would hop on board for the return of Witch Doctor?

“Disappointed to see Witch Doctor abilities, but no actual Witch Doctor,” one fan said on the game’s subreddit. “Oh look… Witch Doctor abilities without the Witch Doctor,” said another.

With Seasonal Powers disappearing after the end of a season, D4’s new Witchcraft skills will be lost once the season ends. While players who adore Witch Doctor may have a lot of fun for one season, that fun will be ripped away in the end.
