Bungie has released a new video taking a behind the scenes look at upcoming expansion Destiny 2: The Witch Queen.

The team are calling the upcoming story the beginning of the end of the Light and Darkness Saga. Major villain Savathûn has been mentioned here and there in the game’s backstory as far back as the first Destiny. But now she’s making her presence known, and ready to take the Guardians out herself.

Various Bungie developers talk us through the new maps and features we’ll get to explore during the expansion. That includes Savathûn’s Hive that we were first introduced to in the trailer last month. The world’s got a few mysterious of its own, and it’ll be down to players to solve the mysteries as they blast through missions.

Other additions in the coming expansion include a super-tough Legendary difficulty, and a new season of additional content even for players who don’t pick up the expansion. This will be the Season of the Risen, and will help colour in Destiny‘s universe to the current state. We also get a brief infodump on how the expansion’s new weapon crafting system will work too.
