Destiny 2 Episode Heresy has been a lot of fun so far, but it is set to get even better with acts 2 and 3. Previously, leaks revealed a boss rush mode, meanwhile, Bungie has recently announced some incoming nerfs. While Act 2 is exciting, Act 3 is even more thanks to Bungie announcing 12 new Destiny 2 weapons plus an awesome mode that fans believe should become permanent.
Destiny 2 Rite of the Nine 12 new weapons
During the Destiny 2 Heresy livestream on March 4th, Bungie announced the Rite of the Nine. This is an event that will accompany Heresy Act 3 on April 1st.
Rite of the Nine is incredibly exciting, and it will feature three dungeons that will rotate weekly. These three dungeons are Prophecy, Spire of the Watcher, and Ghost of the Deep.
There will be four weapons part of each dungeon, meaning 12 new weapons overall. Alongside new and updated perks, these weapons feature an origin perk exclusive to the Rite of Nine event called Gravity Well. This is something that will drop for each of the guns.
Below are the weapons for each dungeon:
Prophecy dungeon:
- Judgement – Hand Cannon
- Relentless – Pulse Rifle
- A Sudden Death – Shotgun
- Prosecutor – Auto Rifle
Spire of the Watcher:
- Long Arm – Scout Rifle
- Wilderflight – Grenade Launcher
- Terminus Horizon – Machine Gun
- Liminal Vigil – Sidearm
Ghosts of the Deep:
- Cold Comfort – Rocket Launcher
- No Survivors – Machine Gun
- New Pacific Epitaph – Grenade Launcher
- Greasy Luck – Glaive
New D2 mode
In addition to the above new weapons for Destiny 2 Rite of the Nine, Bungie announced a new Explore mode with Eternity and Ultimatum. These are basically difficulty modes that will impact the dungeons as you complete them.
Explore is basically easy mode, while Eternity is medium and Ultimatum hardest. Some of the benefits that come with Explore mode include markers and waypoints to help players navigate the dungeon. Meanwhile, for Ultimatum, this is the hardest mode and thus will drop better rewards.
The Explore mode has especially received a lot of praise, with players on Reddit hoping that it will become a mainstay of D2. There’s no commitment from Bungie that it will stick around following Rite of the Nine, but players are hopeful because it’s a mode that is incredibly beneficiary to newcomers who have never played D2 or completed dungeons before, meanwhile, Ultimatum is beneficiary for veterans.
Again, Rite of the Nine will launch with Episode Heresy Act 3 on April 1st. Act 2 will arrive on March 11th, and there’s plenty else to be excited about for Bungie’s second chapter.
For more Destiny 2, players are getting unreleased weapons no one is supposed to get yet, and leaks have revealed an “80% damage buff” perk and weapon pre-order bonus presumably for Apollo.
