Death Inc, a streamlined strategy game of plague and pestilence announced earlier this year by Ambient Studios – an independent developer founded in 2011 by former Media Molecule employees – has made its way to Kickstarter.

The studio is asking for $300,000, with the promise of delivering the game by October 2013.

In Death Inc. players must guide Grim T. Livingstone, freelance reaper, through 1660’s England spreading fear, pestilence and the bubonic plague.

The game is a strategy experience with no micromanagement or complex menus. Paint your orders into the land to unleash your infected minions on serfs, wenches and noblemen. Then use harvested souls to build your business empire with the aim to become the greatest reaper the world has ever endured.

The denizens of the 17th century won’t lose their souls without a fight, arming themselves with sticks, pitchforks, bows and muskets in order to fend off your minions.
