Developer Behaviour Interactive has announced that the Hellraiser series is the latest franchise to join multiplayer PvP title Dead by Daylight.

A tweet from the game’s official account confirmed the news following a week’s worth of teases. The killer known as The Cenobite leads the DLC, based around the series’ iconic villain Pinhead. If you’re familiar with the character, it’ll come as little surprise that his attacks will be based around his chains. They also include his Mori finishing move that drags a player straight down into Hell.

The new killer is currently available on the game’s public test servers on the PC for a few weeks. According to the patch notes on Reddit, it seems this pack will be one of the few to not include a survivor character at launch, although one is said to come later. The pack will then be released to everyone else a few weeks later, tentatively around September 7.

This’ll be Hellraiser’s first appearance in a video game. Creator Clive Barker has stepped into our realm a few times however, most prominently in Clive Barker’s Jericho in 2007. Dead by Daylight meanwhile has had plenty of guest appearances from the world of horror, including Halloween, Saw and Nightmare on Elm Street characters all guesting as DLC packs over the years.

Earlier this week, the game’s development team also confirmed that the game’s crossover with Netflix’ Stranger Things will come to an end on November 17. After this date, players will no longer be able to buy Nancy Wheeler, Steve Harrington or The Demigorgon. Those who already own them will get to keep them after this deadline, however. So get on that sooner rather than later.
