Dead By Daylight has had a good year of limited-time events so far. The most recent LTM was the excellent 2v8 mode, and that is set to return sometime in the future as an updated version. While we don’t know when 2v8 is returning, the popular Lights Out is coming back tomorrow. Here is the DBD Lights Out 2.0 release date and start time countdown along with all of the major changes confirmed by BeHaviour Interactive.

In addition to the return of this LTM, we have the controversial Finisher Mori system coming back very soon, too. This will rear its head again in October, and in December we have an original killer. Previous leaks have suggested the Chapter 34 original killer is a female bounty hunter, but aspects of this femme fatale may have been changed.

While we’re eager to see the final Dead By Daylight killer for this year, we’re also extremely excited for the return of Lights Out 2.0. The release date and time countdown is nearly over, and the DBD community will only have a week to enjoy the event.

Dead By Daylight Lights Out 2.0 release date

Confirmed changes

The return of the LTM was announced and discussed during the CastleVania livestream from BeHaviour Interactive. During this livestream, the developers confirmed that once again the mode will have no perks, no HUD, no terror radius, no scratch marks, and, obviously, no light.

For its comeback, two new maps have been added: Dead Dawg Saloon and Greenville Square. Alongside these new maps, players this time will spawn with a candelabra as their source of light/lantern. This item allows survivors to find the closest generator and reveal its aura within 32 meters.

The lantern will also provide a glimpse of survivor actions to briefly bring back the HUD. Lanterns can be placed atop generators to reveal the aura to other nearby teammates, and completing the generator with the lantern on top will prevent the killer from seeing generator auras for a small period of time.

Unlike the previous iteration, killers will be able to knock the lantern out of the hands of survivors by downing them. Not only that, but killers can also destroy a lantern that has been placed on top of a generator.

These changes have been made in hope of providing a better, fairer, and more equal experience. Hopefully BeHaviour Interactive’s changes succeed and Lights Out will be a lot of fun.
