One of the best LTMs for Dead By Daylight this year was 2v8 mode. It came out in July, but it was only around for a short period of time, although its stay was slightly extended thanks to its popularity. While it is not returning as of yet, a DBD leak has shared new maps that will be part of 2v8 mode when it comes back in the future.

There is a lot for Dead By Daylight fans to look forward to between now and the end of Year 9. Leaks have fully shown the female killer for Chapter 34, meanwhile, the next licensed killer is possibly Sadako from The Grudge. Some bad news recently is that BeHaviour has cancelled their PvE multiplayer game, Project T, but the future remains extremely bright for the core Dead By Daylight experience.

While we cannot wait for Chapter 34, the next licensed killer, and the arrival of the FNAF Chapter, we’re also anticipating the return of 2v8 mode. It is coming back at some point in the future, and it will be expanded upon with new maps and more killers.

Dead By Daylight leak reveals new maps for 2v8 mode

On the DBDLeaks Discord, leaker Aricarna has revealed the following maps will be added to the second iteration of Dead By Daylight 2v8 mode:

  • Father Campbell’s Chapel
  • Dead Dawg Saloon
  • Rancid Abattoir
  • Family Residence
  • Wreckers Yard

All of the above are not official as of writing, but BeHaviour has confirmed 2v8 will return. Presumably maps part of the first iteration will remain:

  • Autohaven wreckers
  • Red Forest
  • Macmillan Estate
  • Crotus Penn Asylum
  • Coldwind farm

Unfortunately, there’s no mention of exactly when the mode will come back. When announcing an extension in August, BeHaviour said, “We’ve also heard demands for 2v8 to stay permanently and while we love the enthusiasm, this is only the first iteration of which we expect more”.

In addition, BeHaviour suggested “matchmaking wait times can be iteratively reduced through more Killer variety and a more compelling Survivor experience”. This suggests there will be more killers come the mode’s return, and perhaps there will be more or different perks for survivors.

BeHaviour is aware fans want 2v8 to become permanent, but they are doing iterations so they can instead make it better. Hopefully it becomes permanent one day, but right now we don’t even know when it will be back for players to enjoy.
