Dead By Daylight has a lot for fans to anticipate between now and the end of the year. BeHaviour has outlined the plans for September, and this includes the return of Lights Out along with a bunch of new skin collections. While September is looking good, a DBD leak has revealed the release date for the return of the controversial Finisher Mori system, and this will be brought back in conjunction with four Killer updates.
You can check out the roadmap for September 2024 to see BeHaviour’s schedule for new content. In addition, there is the release date for The Casting of Frank Stone on September 3rd, and you can pre-order Frank Stone right now to get some exclusive Dead By Daylight skins and rewards.
While we cannot wait for Frank Stone and the return of Lights Out next month, we also have this year’s Halloween event to anticipate, along with the return of the very divisive Finisher Mori system in DBD.
Dead By Daylight leak reveals Finisher Mori release date
According to reliable DBD leaker, Dvveet, Dead By Daylight mid-chapter 33.5 will arrive on October 8th. Its PTB will release earlier on Steam come September 17th.
Below are the features and events that will be part of the mid-chapter:
FEATURES:
- Finisher Mori
- Tome 21 – Dominus
- Killer updates to Merchant, Billy, Unknown and Twins
- Perk updates to Crowd Control, Leverage, Distortion and Blood Rush
EVENTS:
- Haunted by Daylight
All of the above is very exciting, except for perhaps the return of Finisher Mori. This is a system that was around in 2022, and it proved to be very controversial and divisive amongst the Dead By Daylight community.
During the gameplay improvements portion of the year 8 anniversary livestream, BeHaviour Interactive said they “Acknowledged there was some room for improvement from the Survivors perspective”. As a result of player feedback, the final Finisher Mori system is going to become a baseline system for all Killers, meaning Killers are going to have access to Finisher Moris by default.
These Finisher Moris will only be able to be used on the last remaining Survivor. The intention is to provide an “exciting conclusion to the match, [where] the Survivors can feel that the game ended in a fair way”.
In addition to the above, it was stated Mori offerings will instead give bonus blood points to provide a more rewarding experience for Killers, as well as give players an incentive to land a Finisher Mori.
Along with the release of the final Finisher Mori system, there will be updates to the Merchant, Billy, Unknown, and Twins. This and the return of Finisher Mori was already confirmed for September/October in BeHaviour’s Year 9 updates roadmap.
For November, there will be updates to The Plague and the Cenobite. BeHaviour will also deliver tweaks to the Pharmacy, Scene Partner, Weave Attunemnet, and Shadowborn perks.
