A large appeal of Dead By Daylight for many is the crossovers with other iconic horror IPs from the world of television, movies, and sometimes other video games. So far we’ve had an exceptional year of crossovers with Alan Wake, Dungeons and Dragons, Tomb Raider, and most recently, CastleVania. Now a DBD leaker claims we are getting a crossover with a popular horror anime.
Right now there is a lot to enjoy with Dead By Daylight. We have the return of Lights Out 2.0 with some major changes, and the September 2024 roadmap confirms we are soon getting the return of Chaos Shuffle. In addition, there will be a PTB next week, and this will see the return of the Finisher Mori system before it comes back for everyone in October.
There is a lot to anticipate before the end of the year. As mentioned there’s Chaos Shuffle, in October there will be the annual Halloween event, and in December we have a new original killer, survivor, and map. According to a leak, it’s also possible we’re getting a DBD collaboration with a popular horror anime.
Dead By Daylight leak reveals crossover with The Perfect Blue is coming
Dead By Daylight leaker, Ruthless, previously teased a “collaboration with a popular anime/manga“. He didn’t reveal the identity of the franchise at the time, but he stated it is horror related.
Ruthless initially teased this collaboration in July, claiming it is coming “Within the next couple of months”. Now the dataminer has shared that the anime/manga in question is The Perfect Blue.
In addition to claiming it’s The Perfect Blue, he previously clarified that it is for the core DBD experience and not Dead By Daylight Mobile.
As of writing, it’s not official we are getting a collaboration with The Perfect Blue or any other horror anime/manga. However, if it does happen, it will be cosmetics rather than a Chapter.
This should be similar to the Attack On Titan skins we got that were removed in July last year. Reacting to the The Perfect Blue leak, one user commented it’s “one of the greatest anime horror stories ever“.
When Ruthless initially teased the collaboration, a lot of people were hoping for Death Note, Hellsing, Spiral, or Beserk. Although it’s none of these, The Perfect Blue would still be a great addition.
Again, this is an alleged leak as of writing. More leaks suggest we are getting a female killer for Chapter 34, and fans are guessing the next licensed killer could be The Grudge.
