Dead By Daylight fans have a busy period ahead of them. Next week we are set to get the yearly Halloween event which is set to contain a bunch of rewards including cosmetics. While there is a lot planned for the game, a DBD dev has responded to speculation Bloodpoints incentives have been nerfed for killers.
Right now the Dead By Daylight community can get the “rarest” Charm along with some extra Bloodpoints. There is also more Bloodpoints available via the October 2024 codes, and you should’ve received one million BP for logging into the game following patch 8.3.0.
While there is a lot of BP through the above means, BeHaviour Interactive has responded to speculation from the DBD community that Bloodpoints incentive bonuses have been nerfed.
Dead By Daylight dev investigating claim Bloodpoints incentives have been nerfed
On the BeHaviour Interactive forums, there is concern from some in the Dead By Daylight community that Bloodpoints incentive bonuses for killers have been nerfed. Back on September 20th, OP MrMori reported they haven’t “seen 100% on either side for a while now… the BP bonus stays at 50% max”.
While this was the original complaint, following the release of patch 8.3.0 on October 8th, fans have reported BP bonuses for survivors at 150% but still nothing for killers.
One user commented, “150% on survivor, but survivor queues were long and killer queues instant. Man I wish they would fix this already. In theory they’re actually making their own queue times worse by pushing people to play the side that already has too many players. I miss having 100% bonus, especially on killer”.
Another user claimed they have “Literally not had a single killer bonus since 2v8 came out. It’s kinda just demoralised me from playing much anymore tbh since I don’t enjoy survivor much. Prior to that I was getting consistent 100% every evening so I could enjoy the game while still getting reasonable progression for my killer prestiges. Now I might as well wait until BP events to play”.
Dead By Daylight community manager, Peantis, responded to the above complaints on October 9th. The dev said, “To confirm, Bloodpoint Incentives have not been changed. The incentive you see is personalized to you and is based on what is needed most in your region & skill level at that moment. The lower the bonus, the closer the queue is to being evenly distributed”.
Despite the developer’s assurance that nothing has changed, the community insists that something is off. A user commented, “The incentive has behaved quite weird indeed ever since Lights Out and I honestly find it hard to believe that it’s only because the 1:4 ratio is so closely matched… Now though I will sometimes get a 25% to 50% survivor incentive during the night even though my survivor queue time is about 2 minutes long, where as a killer I get into a match pretty much instantly. Generally speaking the 100% incentive has been quite rare for me lately”.
While Peantis has assured fans that nothing has changed, the developer has stated that BeHaviour Interactive is “investigating just in case”.
