Dead By Daylight has had a very good year, but its final chapter of 2024 has been a bit of a dud in the eyes of fans. Doomed Course has only just recently come out, and it has received a lot of criticism from players unimpressed with The Houndmaster killer. Fortunately, BeHaviour Interactive is aware of the gripes within the community, and the DBD developer has promised fixes following “overwhelmingly negative” backlash to Chapter 34.
Before the new year begins, there is a lot to enjoy this month for Dead By Daylight. Players can get a total of 1,500,000 Bloodpoints during December 2024, and the December roadmap also reveals a lot of imminent plans such as the upcoming annual Bone Chill event. As for the new year, we are officially getting a collaboration with the famous Junji Ito, and leaks suggest the March chapter is based on Tokyo Ghoul, although this is far from confirmed.
While there is a lot of new skins and content to anticipate from BeHaviour to celebrate the Christmas season, players will also be happy to know that the DBD developer is working on improvements for Chapter 34.
Dead By Daylight developer promises “fixes” for Chapter 34
Dead By Daylight Chapter 34 came out slightly earlier than originally intended on November 28th, and it’s the final chapter of 2024 for DBD. It introduced Taurie Cain as a new survivor, along with The Houndmaster as a new killer.
It has been a strong year of chapters for DBD. Alan Wake was an excellent way to start the year, and The Unknown and Sable Ward are two of the best original characters introduced to Dead By Daylight. Dungeons and Dragons was great, Lara Croft is an icon unanimously loved across the globe, and CastleVania was excellent, too.
Unfortunately, Chapter 34 has not received a fond welcome. As of writing, Steam has it as “mostly negative,” but the reception was recently “overwhelmingly negative” as captured on Reddit.
The biggest problems with Chapter 34 appear to be an abundance of bugs as well as people not liking the perks of The Houndmaster. As stated in one of the many negative reviews, The Houndmaster is a “buggy mess,” her perks are “pretty mid,” and “her power sometimes works depending on how the dog feels”.
On X, a user posted “I love this game but you just released a killer that barely functions”. To this, the official DeadByDaylight X account assured fans that BeHaviour is “working on the usual smaller patches that follow the release, which will include both bug fixes and power adjustments”.
Meanwhile, on the BeHaviour Interactive forums, community manager, Mandy, elaborated that there will be two hotfixes “prior to the holiday break,” and these will include “adjustments to Houndmaster as well as to the Live Balance changes from PTB”.
It’s good that bug fixes are on the way along with adjustments for The Houndmaster. There have also been some complaints about the perks for Taurie Cain, but adjustments for the survivor have not been explicitly promised by BeHaviour.
