DBD Bone Chill 2024 start time, release date countdown, rewards, new map and more

Dead By Daylight is ending the year with a bang! It has been an excellent 2024 from BeHaviour Interactive, and, while Chapter 34 has been a bit of a downer, the good news is that we are soon set to get BeHaviour’s annual Christmas event. The release date and time countdown for when the DBD Bone Chill 2024 event will start is nearly over, and there is a lot to anticipate from new rewards to a permanent new map.

Make sure to check out the Dead By Daylight December 2024 roadmap, and also make sure you grab the total 1,500,000 Bloodpoints on offer between now and early new year. As for when 2025 begins, we are getting a sick collaboration with the world renowned Junji Ito, and leaks have possibly revealed powers for the new licensed killer set to arrive in March.

Next year is poised to be absolutely phenomenal, but, before the new year begins, we get to enjoy the DBD Bone Chill 2024 event. The release date and start time countdown is nearly over, and fans can look forward to the return of snowmen.

Dead By Daylight Bone Chill 2024 event release date

The release date for the Dead By Daylight Bone Chill 2024 event is December 12th. This was confirmed by BeHaviour Interactive during their livestream celebrating the launch of Chapter 34.

While Thursday marks the arrival of BeHaviour’s annual Christmas event, it is also the launch day for the annual ugly sweaters and other skin collections:

When does the DBD Bone Chill 2024 event start?

The release time for when the Dead By Daylight Bone Chill 2024 event will start is 8AM PT/11AM ET/4PM GMT on December 12th.

This is when new events and chapters start in DBD unless there’s a livestream happening. When Bone Chill starts, it will last until January 7th, so you will have a few weeks to enjoy all of the Christmas activities and unlock all of the rewards.

New DBD map

Accompanying the arrival of BeHaviour Interactive’s annual Christmas activity is a new map called Ormond Lake Mine. This is the map that was part of the 8.4.0 PTB featuring The Houndmaster and Taurie Cain for Chapter 34.

The good news is that this map is not exclusive to Bone Chill as it is a permanent addition to the game. It’s the perfect location for winter terror as it is absolutely freezing with the map completely covered in ice and snow.

Dead By Daylight Bone Chill 2024 event rewards

The rewards for the Dead By Daylight Bone Chill 2024 event include a new skin for Nea and The Huntress. There is also the return of Frosty Weapons for killers, and Frosty Shirts for survivors. There’s also Frosty Eyes along with winter-themed badges and charms.

Snowmen

This year snowmen return with killers and survivors both able to jump inside of them and control. But beware, some of these snowmen will be decoys that look completely normal, but will actually come to life as you approach and explode to alert other players.

There is the return of snow skulls and snow piles. Snow piles will contain skulls that you can pick up and throw like a snowball. You can throw them at other players to be cheeky, or you can throw skulls at snowmen to destroy them and reveal if a killer or survivor is hiding inside.

As for what’s different about snowmen this year, some will move about their own, making it harder to know if it’s a normal snowman or a player. As for snow skulls, you can trade them for this year’s new event ability, the instant snowman. This is basically a snowman that you can pull out at anytime instead of having to find one around the map.
